The inagural Juneteenth holiday and I finally got to paddle Lake Cushman. Man what a breathtaking lake...pictures certainly don't do it justice.
It was glassy as I paddled towards the Northwest end of the lake, but the wind picked up as soon as I started paddling back and had to fight the headwind the entire trip back. I need to understand the mountain winds more...because the hood canal was still glassy all day.

Morning paddle on day one of the "heat dome". Launched from Twanoh State Park and paddled towards Belfair. The park was completely empty when I launched, but completely packed when I got back... had a hard time carrying my kayak back to the car with all the people trying to beat the heat.
